The Springfield City Council is expected to make a decision next week whether to record footage from traffic cameras throughout the town.
Before now, the cameras could be viewed but the footage not recorded. .
The cost for recording the feeds of the city’s traffic cameras is about $90,000.
Authorities say recording the footage will help evidence gathered by investigators and will strengthen cases.
