A police officer for the Ozark, Missouri police department has been put on administrative leave.
A statement from the city says the decision was made after comments made on social media were brought to the city’s attention.
That statement also says, “The views and statements that were made are contrary to the mission of the Ozark Police Department nor what is expected from its officers. This type of behavior will not be tolerated, and the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. The Ozark Police Department believes in working in partnership with the community, by protecting their rights to peacefully assemble and protest.”
The city did not say who made the comments, or what the comments said.
