The first-degree murder trial for former Missouri State professor Edward Gutting is moving forward.
Gutting is charged with stabbing retired professor Marc Cooper to death almost six years ago.
Cooper’s wife was also wounded in the attack in their home.
Gutting was ruled unfit for trial and was sent to the state mental hospital.
Doctors cleared him to stand trial last year.
A video hearing was held Monday to help both sides get ready for the trial.
