(KTTS News) — Congressman Billy Long has conceded in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate.

Long saying on Twitter that he called Eric Schmitt to congratulate him and offer his support.

Schmitt has more than 40-percent of the vote.

At the time, around nine-percent of votes had been counted statewide.

But Long had only four-percent of the votes that had been counted.

I just called @Eric_Schmitt and congratulated him on a big #MOSen victory tonight and offered my full endorsement and cooperation going forward. Anything I can do to help I will and he and his great team know that. On the November! 🇺🇸
