(KTTS News) — The Springfield School Board is taking more time to hear from the public after safety concerns were raised about the proposed site for a new Pipkin Middle School.
Voters approved a bond issue in April that included $53 million to buy 20 acres of land on East Pythian and Highway 65.
But the location is in a heavy manufacturing area, near trains and the 3M chemical manufacturing plant.
And some are worried about kids walking back and forth to class in the area.
