(KTTS News) – A trial date has been set for an Ozark woman facing several charges for a crash that killed a Drury University student in 2021.

55-year-old Marjorie Dewitt will go to trial in April 2024.

Dewitt faces involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, and tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities say Dewitt passed a Fed Ex truck in a no-passing zone on Highway 125 between Rogersville and Strafford.

Police say 21-year-old Mercedes Luna died when she crashed into the Fed Ex truck while attempting to avoid an oncoming vehicle driven by Dewitt.

Officers say that Dewitt left the scene of the accident and were able to trace Dewitt back to the scene through cell phone data.
