(KTTS News) — Early bird registration for the 29th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Springfield ends Friday, November 17 at 5 p.m.

The 5K Run/Walk will be held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23 in downtown Springfield.

Discount registration is $25/Adult and $20/Age 12 and under.

Registration includes a long-sleeved Turkey Trot t-shirt and commemorative race bib.

Register at ParkBoard.org/TurkeyTrot.

Full-price registration kicks in at 5:01 p.m. Nov. 17, at $35/Adults and $25/kids.

On-site registration remains open through the morning of Turkey Trot.

Time is running out for discount Early Bird registration for the 29th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk Presented by Brad Bradshaw, MD, JD, LC, held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, 8 a.m., in downtown Springfield.

Springfield’s Thanksgiving Day tradition takes place rain, snow or shine, bringing thousands of folks downtown to wear goofy hats, earn their holiday calories and support the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Youth Recreation Scholarship Fund. Turkey Trot is also one of the largest food drives of the year for Ozarks Food Harvest. Participants are encouraged to donate five nonperishable food items at the event.

Discount Early Bird Registration, available now through Friday, Nov. 17, 5 p.m., is $25/Adult and $20/Age 12 and under.  Registration includes a long-sleeved Turkey Trot t-shirt and commemorative race bib. Register at ParkBoard.org/TurkeyTrot.

Packet pick-up, and on-site registration, is open Wednesday, Nov. 22, 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, Nov. 23, 6-7:15 a.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 625 E St. Louis St.
