(KTTS News) — Authorities are investigating the death of a Greene County Jail inmate.

49-year-old Michael Hill was found unresponsive inside his cell on Monday.

There were no signs of any foul play. 

Hill was being held on a warrant filed by the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for Domestic Assault – 2nd Degree ($7,5000 bond) and a warrant from Probation and Parole for Probation Violation (no bond).

On January 22, 2024 at approximately 01:26 a.m., detention officers were doing cell checks when 49-year-old Inmate Michael Hill was found in his cell to be unresponsive.

The detention officer making the round immediately went into the cell to render medical aid.

The detention officer began CPR while requesting additional staff to respond.

Additional officers and jail medical staff arrived to the unit and continued CPR.

Cox EMS arrived and Hill was pronounced deceased at 02:08 a.m.

There is no evidence of foul play and this case is still under investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Greene County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hill had been incarcerated since January 04, 2024.

He was being held on a warrant filed by the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for Domestic Assault – 2nd Degree ($7,5000 bond) and a warrant from Probation and Parole for Probation Violation (no bond).
