Deadline to Request An Absentee Ballot By Mail For June Election is Today

(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – The deadline to request a ballot by mail for the June Special Election is Wednesday, June 5 at 5 PM.

Ballots must be completed and received in the Office of the County Clerk by 7 PM on Election Day to be counted.

If you’re voting absentee by mail, voters are required to state one of the following reasons:

  • You will be absent on Election Day in the county you are registered to vote in.
  • Confinement due to illness or physical disability on Election Day.
  • Religious beliefs or practices.
  • Employment as an election authority of by an election authority at a location other than such voter’s polling place, a first responder, a health care worker, or a member of law enforcement.

Absentee voting is available in person for all eligible voters at the Greene County Elections Center off North Boonville Avenue in Springfield.

You can vote Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM, and on Saturday, June 15 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

To vote in person absentee, voters must bring one form of photo identification, such as a non-expired Missouri driver’s or non-driver’s license, a non-expired military ID (including a veteran’s ID card), a non-expired United States passport, or another non-expired photo ID issued by the United States or the state of Missouri.

The Special Election will be held on June 18.
