(KTTS News) — The man charged with shooting four people at the Barnhouse event center in Springfield on New Year’s Day was serving as security at the venue.
37-year-old Timothy Smith told Greene County deputies he fired shots from a rifle into the ceiling because he heard a gunshot and saw someone point a gun at his wife.
Smith says he never aimed the gun at anyone and wasn’t trying to hurt anyone.
Smith is not allowed to have a firearm because he’s been convicted of at least one felony.
