(Reuters) – The U.S. House of Representatives Freedom Caucus is pushing a one-year spending stopgap that could trigger a government shutdown if backed by Speaker Mike Johnson, Axios reported on Wednesday.
Freedom Caucus members said they prefer the spending stopgap if they cannot use the budget process to push other policy priorities, the report said, citing a new letter to Johnson.
