(Springfield’s News Talk 104.1) – The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will host a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Academy April 13th and 20th.
Each day of instruction will last around eight hours and is designed to help prepare local citizens for what to do if they are impacted by an emergency.
Students will learn basic disaster response skills, such as:
Fire safety and suppression;
Light search and rescue;
Disaster medical operations and first aid; and
CERT Team organization.
Those who complete the course will have the opportunity to become a member of the Springfield-Greene County CERT team.
