Update 10 p.m.: City Utilities reports that the number of people without power is at 450.

Update 6 p.m.: The number of folks with out power in Springfield is starting to go down.
City Utilities spokesman Joel Alexander, says 2,000 customers are still without power.
He says crews will be working through the night to get power restored.
Update 4:30 p.m.: Springfield City Utilities says 3,000 customers have been affected by the wind related outages.
City Utilities spokesman, Joel Alexander says the damage and outages are primarily due to tree and vegetation contact with the electric system.
Crews will be working to restore power to all customers.
A KTTS Go Patrol Spotter says the Walmart on North Kansas Expressway is closed due to the power outage.
As well the Missouri Electric Cooperatives outage map, is showing several other counties are experiencing a large number of outages.

High winds are causing numerous power outages across the Ozarks.
Springfield City Utilities outage map shows over 500 customers are without power in northwest part of town, around the Dickerson Park Zoo.
Outages continue to pop-up throughout the city. Over 200 customers are in the dark on the West side of town near Sunshine and State Highway FF.
In the south part of town, over 100 customers are without power near Campbell and Sunset.
Several traffic signals are out, including one at James River Freeway and State Highway FF, Battlefield at Jefferson, as well as Bennett and National.
KTTS Go Patrol spotters say the lights at Kansas Expressway and Norton are out as well as National at Elm near the Missouri State campus.
Also all the lights on Sunshine between Scenic and West Bypass are out.
Stop lights that are out need to be treated as a four-way stop.
There is a High Wind Warning for counties along and North of I-44 until 7 p.m. There could be gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
