The United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri will naturalize 116 new citizens today.
The ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM.
The ceremony will be held at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on Missouri State University’s Springfield campus.
Ceremony applicants represent 46 countries, including Bangladesh, Chile, Malawi, and Tunisia.
The Honorable M. Douglas Harpool will preside over the ceremony.
The National Anthem will be performed by Missouri State University’s A Cub Bella all female singing group, and America the Beautiful will be performed by the Missouri State University Chorale.
Guest speakers will include: MSU President Dr. Richard “Biff” Williams; naturalized citizen Nabila Abid*; Branson performer Yakov Smirnoff; the President of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association; Congressman Eric Burlison; and local representatives from the offices of Senator Josh Hawley and Senator Eric Schmitt.
Complimentary parking will be available in the Bear Park North parking garage or in Parking Lot # 28 at the corner of Cherry Street and John Q. Hammons Parkway.
