The funeral for Joplin Police Officer Jake Reed is today at 1 p.m.
Officer Reed and Corporal Benjamin Cooper died in a shootout last week.
A public funeral service will be held at the Leggett and Platt Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.
People are encouraged to line Main Street from 3rd Street to 19th Street to honor Officer Reed and his family.
The procession will travel that route from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. this afternoon.
Flags will fly at half-staff today at all state office buildings in Jasper and Newton Counties.
