Hour 1 -

Good Thursday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers today:

  • The latest Trump hit piece claims that Trump refused to cover the funeral costs of a soldier who was murdered at a Texas military base in 2020. The Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg published an article about Trump and his promise to pay for Vanessa Guillén’s funeral costs. Trump became angry when he was informed the funeral was $60,000, the article said. “‘It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a f‑‑‑‑‑‑ Mexican!” Goldberg reported Trump saying. “He later turned to his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and issued an order: ‘Don’t pay it!’”
  • Vanessa's sister, Mayra, says the story is absolutely false.
  • Veteran political journalist Mark Halperin issued a warning about bombshell stories involving either presidential candidate this close to the election, after The Atlantic published a controversial report about former President Trump on Tuesday.
